In 2009 we celebrated the 24th Annual Symphony in the Park, Presented by Stephen and April Harris. This spectacular event was held on Sunday, September 13, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. Symphony in the Park is always a unique and elegant outdoor event on the beautiful grounds of Ijams Nature Center. Over 450 guests enjoyed a fabulous auction and cocktails, a delicious meal, and entertainment performed by Maestro Lucas Richman and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. The guest artists were renowned opera pair, Andrew Wentzel and Karen Nickell. A special presentation of the Ijams Spirit award was be made to Alcoa Foundation.

All proceeds benefited Ijams' quality environmental education programs, 175-acre wildlife sanctuary and care of the non-releasable animals.
