Date(s) - June 23, 2018
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

(Recommended for Ages 8 and up) Join naturalist Stephen Lyn Bales as we take a “flock”on the wild side! Ijams Nature Center has a 100-year history of offering birding programs to the public, and new we’re taking our show on the road! Bird-Abouts will take participants on birding adventures throughout East Tennessee!

This date was originally scheduled for our annual Osprey watch at Sequoyah Park, but we have decided to pull the ol’ switcheroo! The osprey nest we were going to watch failed this year. But why drive miles to watch a raptor family when we have two to observe in the woods at Ijams? We’ll meet at the Visitor Center to see two of our education animals: a Buteo hawk and an owl. And then go on a slow walk in the woods to search for both young families. Binoculars are great, but make sure to bring your camera and you might get a wonderful photo!

The fee for this program is $8 per person. EVERYONE MUST HAVE A TICKET.
