IJAMS Fall Butterfly Tagging

October 12 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$8.00

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 8 AND UP

Fall is an exciting time of year where all sorts of animals are migrating, including butterflies! Join an Ijams Naturalist as we take part in this mass insect movement. After a brief opening covering how to use a butterfly net, how and why we tag butterflies, and how to tell butterflies apart we will scour the surrounding meadows for butterlies of all sorts. If we are lucky enough to catch migrating monarchs on their way to Mexico, we will tag and release them for the Monarch Watch program. Join us and become a professional butterfly catcher!

LOCATION

We will meet in the Quarry Parking lot and spend time at the Ijams Adventure Camp Homebase and surrounding meadows.
