Public Program: Sky Watching Event: Saturday, August 23, 3 - 5 p.m.
Are you interested in telescopes? But don't know how to use one? Local members of the Knoxville Observers will be on hand to teach the basics and help us use telescopes to do some sky watching.
Although its invention is generally credited to Galileo Galilei, the Italian physicist and astronomer only improved the telescope; he did, however, use his new design to help usher in a scientific revolution that changed the world. Galileo was one of the first Europeans to observe sunspots, which we will get to see during this afternoon workshop. Class is free. To preregister call Sheila: 577-4717 ext. 10.
