Date(s) - August 10, 2018
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Are parks and public lands important to you? Join us Friday, Aug. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Ijams Nature Center Visitor Center for a FREE film festival! This event features series of short films about some of this nation’s natural spaces, those who are touched by them and how people can protect them, as well as a discussion about the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Stick around for prize drawings from Osprey, Patagonia and more! This event is hosted by The Wilderness Society Action Fund, Nature Conservancy in Tennessee, Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, Appalachian Trail Conservancy and The Land Trust for Tennessee.

The short, thought-provoking films (subject to change) about the nation’s parks and public lands include:

– A Deeper Creek: kids exploring Cherokee National Forest
– Damascus: a couple’s love story of a special place
– The Mirnavator: an inspiring story of a trail runner who authors the blog “Fat Girl Running”
– Dream Ride 3: a mountain biker’s dream sequence
– Contradictions: Find your water: a miner who loves to fly fish
– It is all yours: professional athletes talk about why national forests matter

Join us for a night of fun and discussion about the nation’s wild places, plus prize drawings from Osprey, Patagonia and others!
