Join Ijams Nature Center for one of the fall’s most popular parties with a purpose: Ijams’ 33rd annual Symphony in the Park presented by Stephen and April Harris!

This casual, relaxed evening begins with a cocktail hour featuring a silent auction of handcrafted jewelry, art and photography as well as experiences such as special guest passes to the 2019 Bonnaroo Festival!

A delicious dinner on the Ijams Visitor Center lawn is accompanied by wonderful performance by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra led by Aram Demirjian.

This year’s special musical guest is R.B. Morris, Knoxville’s own poet and songwriter, solo performer, band leader, playwright and actor. He has released half a dozen acclaimed albums and EPs, and his songs have been recorded by John Prine and Marianne Faithfull. Lucinda Williams once called him “the greatest unknown songwriter in the county.”

The 2018 special guest visual artist, Katherine Smith, focuses on the renewing and restorative powers of nature as the inspiration of her beautiful botanical ceramic works. The Canada native holds a BFA from Tennessee Technological University and has exhibited her work in coffee shops as well as galleries at Carson-Newman University and the Appalachian Center for Craft.
