TAKE ACTION!: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

February 22 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The average home can accumulate as much as 100 pounds of household hazardous waste in the basement, garage and storage closets. That’s 100 pounds of household chemicals with labels that say: corrosive, toxic, flammable, or Keep Out of Reach of Children, in YOUR home!
Pouring hazardous materials in the drain, flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash has a negative impact on the environment, especially the water supply because many of these harmful chemicals eventually make their way into rivers, lakes and streams.

Join us on February 22 from 10am-1pm at the overflow lot at Ijams Nature Center to properly dispose of all the harmful chemicals in your home including:

*Automotive Products: Oil and Fuel, Cleaners, etc.
*Batteries – Lead Acid, Lithium, and Rechargeable (no alkaline), *Household Cleaners: Bleach, Detergents, drain openers,
*Paint (Oil-based only. 20 gal. limit/day/container size. No latex)
