(Wildscaping: making your yard greener than grass!)

Green Backyard

Wildscaping is making planting and design choices on your property that enhance wildlife food and shelter and increasing the diversity of native plants. Your yard may already have some wildscaping elements. Do you feed the birds? Have trees, shrubs or flowers that provide seeds, berries or nuts? Do you have a pond or water feature that some handy person has created? Even birdhouses and bird baths are part of wildscaping techniques.

In the Ijams Wildscaping workshop we focus on planning and planting with natives, reducing invasive species and introducing you to some specific native plants that are easy to maintain. We offer seeds and cuttings and advice based on successes and failures we've experienced.
