Ijams Creativity Series

The more you get away from the stresses of daily life and the more time you spend outdoors, the greater your level of creativity. Scientists and psychologists have long-touted the benefits of spending time outdoors. In addition to lowering blood pressure increasing critical thinking and reasoning skills, time spent in nature can boost your creativity. With the Ijams Creativity Series, we’ll help participants let go of their hectic everyday lives and reconnect with their creative spirit. From jewelry and art to music and crafts, visitors will find a variety of ways set their inner artist free!

Ijams will offer a series of workshops that will help participants learn techniques and tips to creating their own, one-of-a-kind jewelry. From basic beading to salvage steampunk, Ijams’ own artist Sarah Brobst will lead you into the world of fun accessories.

New in 2015, Ijams will start fun, hands-on craft workshops. Starting in March, we’ll begin with the Mason Jar Craft Series. Three monthly workshops will allow participants to create perfectly pint-sized projects that would make great gifts. Led by Ijams’ crazy crafter Jennifer Roder, these classes are sure to be lively and fun.

In 2014, Ijams began offering monthly drum circles and they have continued to grow. We plan to continue these drum circles, in addition to adding other music programs that will take their inspiration from the symphony around us in nature.
