Members Only Hikes- New in 2018!

(Recommended for Adults) Ijams Nature Center is now offering a new series of MEMBERS ONLY, monthly hikes that explore areas beyond Ijams’ borders with nature expert Ken Voorhis, who recently retired from his position of chief operations and education officer from Yellowstone Forever, the nonprofit education and philanthropic partner of Yellowstone National Park.

Ken will be leading hiking adventures to some of the Smoky Mountains’ most scenic and captivating locations. The group size for these programs is small to guarantee participants of a fantastic experience.

All hikes will meet at the trail head. Specific directions, packing instructions, etc., will be sent upon registration. Hikes occur rain or shine and will have a maximum of 15 people, so early registration is strongly encouraged. You must be a current member of Ijams Nature Center to be eligible to register. Ken is an educator, naturalist and leader committed to connecting people and nature for 40 years, and served as executive director of Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont from 1984 to 2013.
