Ijams to host two free teacher workshops

Saturday April 07, 2007
Get in-service credit this June and July

Summer is the perfect time for teachers to get wet and wild and get in-service credit for doing it. Ijams will host two teacher workshops: Project WET on Tuesday, June 19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Project WILD on Thursday, July 26, 9 a.m. to 4 pm.

The Project WET curriculum and activity guide is a collection of multi-disciplinary water-related activities for five through 18-year-olds. Project WILD is a wildlife-focused conservation education series for kindergarten through high school age students.

Each workshop will provide necessary resources to fulfill six hours of in-service credit. Both will also provide a wealth of hands-on activities and informative materials. State facilitator, Tami Coleman, will conduct the Project Wild workshop.

The workshops are free. A $20 fully refundable deposit is required to hold the spot. To pre-register call 577-4717, ext. 10.
