Earth Fare helps Ijams in July

Saturday July 25, 2009
Donate to nature center by reusing grocery bags

By Sally Judiscak

If you haven't heard the news yet, Earth Fare has opened a second store in Knoxville,  located in the Bearden area.  During the month of July, Ijams is participating in Friends of Earth Fare, a program to encourage consumers to reuse grocery bags.  For each grocery bag you reuse at Earth Fare, they will donate five cents to Ijams.  All of those nickels can surely add  up for Ijams!  Additionally, you can help make a positive impact for our environment by reducing the number of grocery bags used.

Be sure to stop by Earth Fare July 25 and visit naturalist Stephen Lyn for tips on "Creating a Bird Friendly Yard." We'll also be making birdfeeders out of recycled plastic juice bottles.
