Position Announcement: Development Officer (Full-time)
Ijams Nature Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, member-supported environmental education center located adjacent to the Tennessee River in South Knoxville, Tennessee. Annual visitation is approximately 50,000 visitors and more than 50,000 teachers and students utilize educational programs across the East Tennessee region.  

Ijams seeks a talented and experienced individual with a proven track record of success in fundraising combined with a personal commitment to the environment and the nonprofit sector. The Development Officer is responsible for achieving fundraising and membership goals, overseeing all activities related to public relations and special events, developing and maintaining active and productive relationships with board members, donors, educators and park management staff.

Qualifications/Skills
A BA or BS degree in Marketing, Business or Nonprofit Management or related field.  A minimum of three years professional fundraising with a track record of successful solicitations and donor cultivation. Experience with capital campaigns and endowment fundraising desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with high professional standards. Demonstrated leadership ability and direct supervision and motivation of employees and volunteers. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

Salary
