For The Air We Breathe program Ijams Nature Center has formed a partnership with Knox County Air Quality Management in order to implement an interactive education program that addresses air quality issues in our region.
Fans of Ijams Nature Center Owl Prowls and Bug Nights are sure to love Bat Night! Bat enthusiasts meet the Ijams Nature Center Naturalists at the Visitor Center and learn lots of interesting facts about the bats that can be found in East Tennessee, some of which live right here at Ijams!
With 155 acres of walking trails, ponds and fields Ijams Nature Center is an environment that lends itself naturally to birthday parties.
Kids of all ages get a kick out of bugs, which is why Ijams has a full night of activities devoted to the creepy-crawly critters!
Ijams Earth Flag program addresses the problem of excessive solid waste and teaches students and educators how to reduce waste and improve sustainability in the classroom.

Ijams’ Junior Naturalist Program actively puts children (10-13 years) in touch with nature so that they become comfortable outdoors and can share their knowledge with others.
