Scouts

Scouting has been a tradition at Ijams since the 1930s, with dozens of boy and girl scout troops visiting every year. Incorporating the motto “be prepared,” Ijams offers diverse programming ranging in ability, age, and educational subject.

Ijams Nature Center can be a valuable resource for your scout troop. We have a diverse and talented staff so we can offer a wide variety of programs- some of them may surprise you! We hope that you will try scouting at Ijams Nature Center! For more information about our badge workshops or private troop outings contact Naturalist Jeremy Clothier at jclothier@ijams.org or by phone 865-577-5717 ext. 127.

Looking for Conservation Hours for Scouts?  Throughout the year, we offer workdays where Scouts can come in and earn conservation hours. Scouts can sign up for these dates individually or with their Troop, but spaces are limited so preregistration is required.  Email Lauren Bird, our Volunteer Coordinator, at lbird@ijams.org to find out when sign up.
