DonationsIn-Kind DonationsIn addition to financial contributions, Ijams is often in need of in-kind donations. Donated items are used to raise funds at our annual Rummage Sale in June and for our Symphony in the Park Silent Auction in September. Our Education Department staff relies on the donation of many of the items needed for programs and outreach. If you have something you would like to donate, please call the Ijams at 577-4717. Preserving Ijams' Legacy Through Planned GivingIjams' mission of environmental education and conservation embodies the value we place on understanding, experiencing and protecting the natural world. By supporting Ijams every year through our membership program, you allow us to continue to provide those educational and conservation programs that meet the needs of our community. These programs make a real difference in the quality of life for community residents. How You Can Help Ijams To Remain a Vital Community Organization for Years to Come?By including Ijams in your will, you can help strengthen Ijams' legacy for the future. Although Ijams does not currently have a formal planned giving program, we are taking the necessary steps to implement such a program that will steadily increase the value of our modest endowment. Therefore, growing the endowment into a significant trust will become an important aspect of Ijams' long-range planning. Making a bequest allows you full control of your assets during your lifetime but also gives you the satisfaction that Ijams will ultimately benefit from your generosity. Bequests can take the form of a designated sum of money, a percentage of your estate, or a specific item or real estate that you wish to donate to Ijams. Bequests are not subject to estate or inheritance taxes and therefore can significantly reduce the tax burden of your estate. Ijams Nature Center is a community asset that must be preserved. Through the generosity of our committed supporters we will be able to make this a reality for generations to come. For more information, please contact Paul James, Executive Director, at 865-577-4717 ext. 18 or email pjames@ijams.org. |
