For many folks, Ijams is synonymous with water. Whether it’s cooling off in Toll Creek, exploring Mead’s Quarry Lake by boat, or taking in the scenic view of the Tennessee River, visitors have been enjoying the waterscapes of Ijams for decades.

Naturalist-led Kayak Programs

Ijams offers monthly Kayaking Programs from May to September led by an Ijams Naturalist. Each month we head out on to the river to explore nature from a new perspective. These programs are not recommended for first time kayakers, and all materials are provided. Be sure to check our CALENDAR OF EVENTS for the most current program information.

The free, public-access dock on the Tennessee River at the Ijams River Landing is open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk for those with their own paddle boats.
