About the Event
Let's make the Greater Knoxville Area a cleaner, healthier, more beautiful place! Volunteer for the 2022 Ijams River Rescue presented by TVA, an annual communitywide event when 400-1,000 volunteers will spend a few hours removing trash from the Tennessee River and its tributaries. Volunteer by yourself or with your family, friends, corporate team, scout troop or church group! Bags and gloves are provided, and each location has site captains to assist volunteers.
Howe Park
- Meet at 10 am at Howe Park.
- The site is suitable for young children.
- This site focuses on land/shoreline. Volunteers may have the opportunity to wade in the water. If you have waders or tall rain boots, bring them.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are interested in registering a GROUP for this event, please have EACH PERSON in your group sign up individually so that they can receive a waiver and contact information. This is especially important when trying to communicate specific instructions for parking and where to meet, and if inclement weather causes the event to be rescheduled for March 19!
Closer to the event, everyone registered will receive a reminder email, so be on the lookout. All participants must fill out a registration form, and all children under 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian. Troop leaders, friends, and other relatives CANNOT sign waivers for participating children.
