About the Event
Beginning to Bird is designed for ages 11 and up
Description: Ijams' Beginning to Bird program helps you take or re-take your first steps into the world of bird watching. This month, we get a look at feathers from many different birds. Together we will view feathers up close, learn how to tell various feathers a part, and explore how these amazing structures came to be. We'll be watching and listening for adult birds all the while.
Materials Participants Should Bring: Good walking shoes, water, binoculars (Ijams can provide binoculars as needed), journal, something to write with, and bird field guide
Information to Note: This is a bird walk and we will go on trails with roots, rocks, and some elevation change. Arrive ready to walk approximately .75 to 1 miles.
Directions: This program meets outside the Ijams Visitor Center on the main plaza.
No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
