CANCELED Ijams Family Moth Night (Family Program)

Recommended for ages 10 and up

Description: Come join an Ijams Naturalist as we explore the amazing nocturnal world of moths during National Moth Week. This is a Community Science Event targeting moth species across the world. Together we will learn how to identify common moths, how to attract them, and their evolutionary history and ecology. You won't learn how to identify every one of the 12,000 species in North America, but we will have a ton of fun!

Materials Participants Should Bring: Smartphone or camera, flashlight, weather appropriate clothing, water bottle, and late night snacks. 

Information to Note:  This is a late night program so take a nap to be fresh and ready for our beautiful moths and other nocturnal insects.. 

Location: This program meets at the Miller Building at Ijams Nature Center, and directions will be sent to you prior to the program. 

No walk-ins will be accepted. Every participant must have a ticket. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Ijams awards full refunds for any cancellations up to 7 days before a program, or if Ijams cancels a program due to inclement weather. 

Refunds are not awarded for programs with fees of $5 or less for any reason. Tickets are non-transferable.
