About the Event
Recommended for ages 10 and up
Description: Explore Ijams Nature Center in a new light, or perhaps no light. Ijams Night Hikes get you out on the trails to experience the night using all of your senses. This walk will focus on viewing the Perseid Meteor shower. Learn about this shower, some simple constellations, experience the night during a short walk, and then sit back to enjoy the show.
Materials Participants Should Bring: Good walking shoes, water, flashlight, blanket, pillow or a headrest, and weather appropriate clothing.
Information to Note: This is a night hike that covers trails with roots and rocks. Participants should be prepared to walk in low light conditions.
In case of weather or cloud cover there are two back up dates of 8/12 and 8/13.
Directions: This Ijams Night Hike meets at the Ijams Nature Center 2915 Island Home Avenue.
